German Opportunity Card

Germany just made it easy for immigrants with the German Opportunity Card.

German Opportunity Card is a resident and work permit that enables you to travel, live, and work in Germany legally.
This card is valid for a year and can easily be renewed.
The only qualification required is for you to be a graduate for at least 2 years and you’re good to go.

Hi,
I have partner that assist in the block fund.
This is the process if you need only the Blocked account.

  1. You sign up on the blovked account provider. They charge €95. And then you download their app
  2. Once your account is activated, instead of you to fund the account with the full €12k plus, you need to fund it with 5% of the needed sum which amount to €600 plus.
  3. At this point, you will share the proof of the 600 with me. Then i will send it to my funding partner who will fund the rest of the amount but the charge €500 for that.
  4. Once they finalise with the bank, the bank will issue the blocked account letter which you will use for your visa.
  5. I charge €500 for this. Not the 600 plus is your money but the 500 of the funding partner and my charges is not refundable.
  6. Also, you will send undertaking that after your visa. You will still raise money to fund your account before you fly since this is a basic requirement. We can also help in the insurance
I hope you understand the step

I’m interested. Please send me your WhatsApp number. Let’s communicate

Has anyone applied through the online consular portal? Is the waiting time different compared to the appointment portal? How long did it take from registration to receiving the call?

Yes,
Many people have applied but we noticed that those who applied before the D-day is having challenges of getting appointment dates.
Though as expected, some delays should not be more than 1 month.

What do you mean by D-day? I applied for the waiting list back in June and would like more information about those applying from Nigeria through the online consular portal that opened in November. I’m considering applying through that portal as well.

Those that applied November are having appointments and also submitting unlike those who applied since June on the awaiting list

Identify the Competent Authority

  • In Germany, healthcare professions like optometry are regulated. Recognition is managed by the relevant authority in the federal state where you plan to work.
  • The competent authority may vary based on the region (e.g., health ministries, chambers). see https://www.zva.de/ and Anerkennungsportal

3. Prepare Required Documents

Common documents include:

  • Certified copies of your degree/certificate.
  • Transcript of Records (detailed course information).
  • Proof of work experience, if applicable.
  • Language proficiency certificate in German (usually B2 level).
  • Passport or ID copy.
  • Statement of good standing from your professional regulatory body.

Ensure documents are translated into German by a certified translator.

4. Submit an Application

  • Apply to the relevant recognition authority with your documents.
  • Pay the processing fee (typically €200–€600, depending on the case)

I applied late october and no response yet. What could be the issue

Ji, i dont think you have an issue if you have provided the needed documents.
Do also remember that they have many applicants. Please, i advice you do not worry.

Thanks for your response.
